“Time To Say Goodbye” – Dance

July 5

Time To Say Goodbye

Choreographed and Performed by Becky

Music Composed and Performed by Adam

Time To Say Goodbye is a piece of contemporary style dance that was inspired in part by a poem that Becky, an Enfield based learning disabled artist, had written (and which features at the end of the video).

Becky created the dance first, and then wanted a slow, classical style piece of music to accompany it. Adam is a very talented musician and composer, so when Becky suggested a collaboration with him for this piece – it was a excellent opportunity to bring two very talented, learning disabled performing artists together. Here’s what Becky had to about the piece:

“The feelings are very emotional and slow and a bit sad. We’ve gone through a dark time but we are heading towards the light again.  I created the dance and then gave it to the composer  Adam who watched it and wrote a piece of music inspired by my moves. It was nice handing my dance over to the music.”

*Becky’s poem (which features at the end of the video) addresses some tricky topics dealing with the mind and the soul*
