It’s My Choice – A New Online Resource (Promo #1)

July 2

Welcome to Face Front Inclusive Theatre’s transition programme ‘It’s My Choice’, exploring true life dilemmas concerning young learning disabled people who are leaving school.

The programme puts the young person at the heart of the action, helping them to make important life choices and negotiate the maze of potential pressures, confusion and anxiety that can occur when planning to leave the safety of their school.

“Face Front are proud to be launching our digital programme It’s my choice! During the pandemic we had to cancel our touring school’s production It’s my Move. We knew there was still a need for intervention within schools surrounding the topic of transitions. This digital programme achieves our initial aims to:

  • Reduce stress and anxiety around transition for young people with learning difficulties and disabilities (LDD) and their carers
  • Help young people express their choices and for carers and professionals to listen
  • Improve understanding of the local offer and the Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

By creating a digital transition programme, we are reaching a wider audience who would not ordinarily get to experience our schools tour, Covid-19 cannot stop us from advocating for the disabled community and helping young people express themselves more freely.” – Lauren (Assistant Producer – Face Front Inclusive Theatre)
