It’s My Move

October 2, 2017 - November 22, 2017

It's My Move

Face Front’s play about the transition from school to adult life for young people with mild to moderate Learning Disabilities/Difficulties and their parents / carers is back on tour this Autumn.

The programme aims to:

  • Reduce stress and anxiety around transition for young LDD people and their carers.
  • Help young people express themselves and for carers and professionals to listen
  • Improve understanding of the local offer and the EHCP.

Face Front brings a team of professional performers with and without Learning Difficulties/Disabilities who present an engaging, multi-accessible play with music, movement, drama and film. The play is interactive and encourages the young people to enter into the drama, solving the characters dilemmas around transition.

There is an option for an additional extended workshop following the play, which focuses on role-plays exploring individual dilemmas, expressing views and understanding local opportunities.

The play is 60-75 mins and the workshop 30-60 mins and is accompanied with comprehensive resources for teachers and parent/carers. ‘It’s My Move’ is specifically targeted for young people aged 15-23 and can be performed at special schools, FE college sites or at local theatres.
