‘The Pioneer Talks’: Jon French – Dance, Drama and Disability

July 13

Earlier this year Face Front were approached to create a short film about the creative life of a disabled performer for an audience of young disabled people with the aim of encouraging them to pursue careers in the performing arts if that was there passion.

At Face Front we are very fortunate to work with a range of incredibly talented disabled performers, not least our very own Jon French – so we chose to create a short film of Jon talking about his career and pathway into the performing arts.

The results of this short film has inspired Face Front to create an archive of short films that highlight and celebrate the contribution of practitioners and artists who have enriched the landscape of inclusive and participatory arts; pioneers in their field.

‘The Pioneer Talks’ were born, and we have already recorded our second interview which is in the process of being edited, and we will look to grow this archive of leading figures in the performing arts.

For Face Front Fest 21, we would like to share again the inaugural pioneer talk that focusses on Jon French.
