Face Front Inclusive Theatre Recognised for Transformative Work in SEND Schools
Face Front is very pleased to share the news that we recently won an award!!
We were awarded the SEND Inclusion Excellence Award 2025 by the Creative and Visual Arts Awards and LUXlife. This award celebrates our Creative Industry Workshops, It’s My Choice online programme and touring production: It’s My Move.
It’s My Move is Face Front’s flagship touring production. This interactive play supports young disabled people as they transition from school into adult life and complete their Education, Health and Care plans. Now in its 14th year, It’s My Move combines Forum Theatre with Makaton, music, movement, poetry and film, empowering students to explore choice‑making, independence, and future planning in a safe and engaging environment.
In the past year alone, It’s My Move toured to 20 SEND schools and colleges, delivering 27 performances to over 1,100 students and supporting adults.
Artistic Director, Ray Downing said, “We believe inclusive theatre should be ambitious, joyful and transformative. This nomination celebrates not only It’s My Move, but the voices, creativity and lived experiences of the disabled performers and young people who shape everything we do. A massive thank you to the current and past touring team and to the freelance directors, writers and designers.”
