Spotlight on Interaction participant: ‘Con’
We are used to Face Front participants be awesome in our weekly session, but we would like to shine a light on some fantastic work that InterACTion participant Con has been doing outside of his time with Face Front.
In the run up to Christmas 2024, Con (who has lived experience of homelessness) volunteered with the Charity ‘Crisis’. It was while volunteering in the warehouse at Christmas that Con got to meet with the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner.
Con said…
“I was delighted that such influential people were taking an interest in the serious epidemic that is homelessness – and grateful to be able to share my own story of lived experience of it. I have been volunteering in the sector now for ten years and am happy to give back the help that was freely given to me. I have been a part of the wonderful inclusive drama group: InterAction now for two years and I would love it if Sadiq Khan and Angela Rayner would come and see what it is we get up to either in a session or at our future show at the DAC in July.”
Everyone at Face Front and InterACTion are incredibly proud of the time and care that Con gives to this important cause, and we are pleased to take this opportunity to celebrate his efforts in his voluntary work as well as all the fun and dedication he brings to our InterACTion drama group (he made for a very fetching mermaid/dame in our sharing of Peter Panto on 6th December – OH YES HE DID!).
