Work Experience Diary- Oscar from ArtsDepot

On Wednesday 19 April, I went to Edmonton to Face Front Inclusive Theatre Company to have a meeting with Ray, the Artistic Director and Lauren. I was very excited about going and I really wanted to find out more about Face Front. Ray explained what I would be doing in a typical day. We also worked out a timetable. It looks like I will be getting a lot of different experience, and maybe even have a chance to see some shows and perhaps perform! I really can’t wait until next Wednesday!

On Wednesday 26 April, I went to Face Front for my first proper day of work experience, I was really looking forward to it. I met Danny. I think we got on well. We travelled together on the W8 bus to the “Broken Silence” drama group. I enjoyed working on the play script and singing with them. Then I went back to do drama exercises. Unfortunately, I had to leave early to go to my last session at A New Direction at the Cottesloe-Dorfman theatre. Next time I will be at Face Front for a full day.

On Wednesday 3rd May I went to Face Front for my second proper day’s work experience. We had a chat about how last Wednesday had gone. Then I met Duncan Butcher from Arts Depot and Danny. I think we got on well. We travelled together on the W8 bus to the “Broken Silence” drama group. I enjoyed working on the play script and singing. When we got back to Face Front we were playing a few dancing games in the Saray Centre.

On Wednesday 10 May I went to Face Front for my third work experience. We went over their golden rules. Danny and I went to get snacks at Asda. We got the W8 bus to the “Broken Silence” drama group. I enjoyed working on the play script and singing. When we got back to Face Front we were playing the crocodile, crocodile game and dancing at the Edmonton Green centre.

On Wednesday 17 May, I went to Face Front for my fourth work experience. Danny and I went to get the snacks at Asda. Next, we got the W8 bus to the “Broken Silence” drama group. I enjoyed working on the play script and singing. When we got back to Face Front, I got a DDM (Drama, Dance and Music) shirt from Ray. We played hiding games and dancing at Face Front. On Saturday 20 May, Dad and I went to the Dugdale Arts Centre to see “The Hero Next Door”. The play was good. I really enjoyed the singing, the football match and the character called Musa in Enfield Town.

On Wednesday 24th May I went to Face Front for my 5th work experience session. Danny and I bought the snacks at Asda first, then we got the W8 bus to ‘Broken Silence’ drama group. I enjoyed working on the script and singing. We have bought our tickets for the ‘All at Sea’ show in July, I’m really looking forward to it. Afterwards we got the bus back to Face Front where we played drama games and practised for the ‘ Happy You Year’ performance. Next week is half term, so there won’t be a session.

On Wednesday 7 June I went to Face Front for my sixth work experience. Danny and I went to Asda to get the snacks, next we took the W8 bus to “Broken Silence” drama group. I enjoyed the play, script and the singing. We are getting close to finishing the rehearsals and I think that the productions will be very good in July.

On Wednesday 21st June I went to Face Front for my 8th work experience. First Danny and I went to Asda to get the snacks. When we had bought them. we caught the W8 bus to “Broken Silence” drama group. I enjoyed watching the rehearsal for “All at Sea”. I think it is amazing how much the production has come along since I first saw it.

On Wednesday 28th June I went to Face Front for my 9th work experience. First Danny and I went to Asda to get the snacks. Next we got the W8 bus to ‘Broken Silence’ drama group. I enjoyed watching the rehearsal for “All At Sea”. I think it is an exciting production about a ship. We are going to see it at the Dugdale Arts Centre soon. Next we took the W8 bus back to Face Front, where we rehearsed for “Happy You Year”, which we are performing next week. Unfortunately I left early because I had a ticket to see “The Wizard of Oz” at the London Palladium. I am sad that next week is my last session at Face Front.
