It’s My Move 2023
We are pleased to announce that thanks to the support of our wonderful funders: Sussex Community Fund, Tottenham Grammer School Foundation and The Childwick Trust, we will again be taking our brilliant play ‘It’s My Move’ on a national tour of SEN schools. From Harringay and Hendon to Surrey and Sussex, we are delighted to be delivering this important piece of forum theatre to young Learning Disabled people, to help them navigate the challenges of transitioning from school to adult life.
Here’s just some of what our audience from last year had to say about ‘It’s My Move’…
“Absolutely fun and amazing” Student
“It help me understand” Student
“On Behalf of our students, we would like to thank the entire Face Front team. The performance and workshop were equally informative, energetic and engaging. The feedback from the students and staff has been fantastic and we can’t wait to get you back in soon” Phillip Peterson, Assistant Head, Belvue SEN School
‘It’s My Move’ is not only a hit with our audience, but also with the cast too – which is why we are delighted to welcome back so many of the cast from last year’s tour.
Five of the eight members of the diverse cast of ‘Its My Move’ are learning disabled/neurodivergent and the production provides an opportunity for these emerging actors to work as a professional (AKA Paid!) actor in a touring Theatre in Education piece and gain vital experience and skills development. They are then able to share these skills with our audiences through performing and via the practical workshop. ‘Its My Move’s’ accompanying workshop is offered to venues that have students interested in a career in the creative arts. Through a series of games, exercises, and discussions, a small team made of cast members provides participants with an insight into working in the performing arts and an opportunity for them to ask questions as well as inspire them to follow their dreams.
If you have a group of learning disabled young people that you feel would enjoy and benefit from ‘It’s My Move’ but are unable to have us visit you this time, then please do check out out ‘It’s My Choice’: A digital version of this production with accompanying teachers resource pack and activities, which is available online and all for free!
