Spotlight on Fin

Hello. My name is Fin and I’m the newest addition to the Face Front family and ‘Whisper Me Happy Ever After’ tour. I’m an actor based in London, having trained at East 15 and Identity School of Acting. My background is in theatre however, this is my first TIE project, and what a project it has been thus far. We are almost five weeks down with one to go.

I wasn’t entirely sure when I went to my audition quite what I would be signing myself up to if given the role. But I left with a real sense of warmth from the team at Face Front and a clarity that this was important work, not only on an artistic level but also on a human one. So upon being offered it, I was really excited.

The story is about a family who are dealing with the effects of domestic abuse and we present this to Yrs 5 & 6. When first reading it, I was struck at how sensitive and poignant it was and wanted to ensure I honoured that. The comic relief offered allows for those moments to really land and hearing sixty kids in hysterics also really warms my heart.

After the show, we lead them through a ‘forum’ where they have the ability to change what happens in the play by engaging with its themes head on and discussing what the characters could have done differently.

Having completed rehearsals in four days to now seeing first-hand the impact its had on young people over these last five weeks has been really special. I’ve found it both creatively fulfilling and equally challenging at points and it’s been a privilege to be a part of.
