Spotlight on MA Placement Jenny
Hello! My name is Jenny and I am currently an MA Applied Theatre student at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and am thrilled to be continuing my placement with Face Front Inclusive Theatre after a very fun and exciting month with them.
My journey with Face Front started with the Blue Sky Actors group and I immediately felt comfortable and connected with the company from the get go! I loved beginning each session with a massive dance party where everyone can join in and show off their dance moves, bringing a vibrant energy to the day. I was fortunate to work with the group for their end of term performance ‘What’s The Matter?’, where they demonstrated their incredible devising and acting skills to their audiences. The performance was joyous, creative and above anything hilarious, and what an honour it was to see how much everyone’s hard work had paid off. I am very excited to be staying with the Blue Sky Actors next term and can’t wait to explore more theatre techniques and practices with them!
I also had the pleasure of tagging alongside the ‘Whisper Me Happy Ever After’ school tour and was fortunate to witness first hand the impact this production has on the students who watch it. Not only is the show incredibly informative and approachable to the students but also gives them the opportunity to be hands on and creative during the performance. I have had worked in school tours previously, so it was lovely to revisit this and be part of the experience!
I am extremely excited to start working with more Face Front groups next term such as Broken Silence, DDM and The Bridge Group. I am looking forward to meeting new people, learning more about each project and spending more time with the Face Front family! They offer such a wide variety of groups and am very grateful I get to learn more about each of these projects through a very hands on experience.
Of course, I would love to say the biggest thank you to everyone at Face Front for welcoming me so warmly and making me feel a part of the family already! I always look forward to the sessions and am so grateful for the support and experience I have gained so far. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for next term, I know it’ll be a blast!
