Local Charity Launches 50/500 Fundraising Event
Face Front, an inclusive theatre charity based in Edmonton Green, is celebrating Artistic Director’s 50th blood donation with a special celebration fundraiser called 50/500.
Led by disabled and non-disabled arts practitioners, Face Front’s shows and activities transform the lives of disadvantaged people, improving emotional wellbeing and addressing social injustice. Its Artistic Director, Ray Downing, has been a blood donor for 20 years, and on the 1st February am will make his 50th donation – a huge achievement.
He says: “Face Front has always been fantastic in supporting me to attend the blood donation clinics. My 50th donation felt like a great opportunity to celebrate: raising much-needed funds for Face Front’s work and awareness of the importance of blood donation.”
Face Front has been pioneering social change through artistic excellence to create an inclusive world since 1999. Based in Edmonton, they work across London and tour nationally, creating accessible theatre for schools and the public, with disabled and non-disabled performers. Ray hopes to raise £500, while at the same time encouraging people to becoming blood donors themselves.
“Supporting two causes with one event is really exciting,” says Ray. “It will make my 50th donation even more special.”
