Spotlight on Ben from DDM

Face Front want to wish long time DDM participant: Ben a huge congratulations as he received the news that he has successfully auditioned for a place at Chickenshed to continue his studies in Performing Arts.

DDM is Face Front’s group for participants aged 14 – 18 who are learning disabled and neurodiverse; and it has been running for almost twenty years. DDM stands for Drama, Dance and Music – although in recent years they have also explored film making and undertaken Bronze and Silver Arts Awards!

Ben has been in the group for three years, and has taken part in three DDM shows and achieved his Bronze Arts award.

On his time at DDM, Ben said…

“Being in DDM I have learned how to take part in performing games and acting. I have got better at performing and I’m more focused. I’m more confident and brave and I’m loud and proud.

I’m going to miss all the snacks and the friends I’ve made, and I’m going to miss Ray, but we all can’t be in one place forever… we have to move on and get to another place.

I’m excited to make some new friends and reunite with my childhood best friend who is already at Chickenshed.

I would definitely recommend DDM for people who are interested in drama and acting and if you’re lucky you can go on to get a place at Chickenshed.

DDM – I would like to say a massive thank you for everything that you’ve done for me throughout the years.”

We’re all excited for Ben to be taking this next step in his journey to becoming a professional performer and wish him every success.
